Gir Cow

WHAT IS GIR COW?

Since time immoral in ancient Vedic time Lord Krishna has served the GIR cow when HE settled in Gujarat.

Visionary Brazilians had taken hundreds of original breed of GIR cows before a century from GIR area of Saurashtra, Gujarat and a finest bull from Shri Krishnasinghji Maharaj, King of Bhavnagar State, Saurashtra. Today Brazil has more 40 lacs GIR Cows. The breed is today on the verge of extinction from India as people of India are using more of buffalo and HF and Jersey cow milk then the Gir Cow’s milk. High quality Gir Cow are available in the district of Junagadh, Bhavnagar, Amreli and Rajkot in the state of Gujarat. It is a sorry state for us as we could not save more number of original breed of Gir cow in India. Today there are hardly 10-15 thousand original breed of Gir cow remaining in India. The breed is today on the verge of extinction from India as people of India are using more of buffalo and HF and Jersey Cow milk then the Gir cow’s milk.

What is the Difference between Gir Cow and foreign breed HF and Jersey Cow?

The indigenous breed of cow is easily differentiated by its hump, horn and throat skin which are absent in exotic breeds. Most important of all the difference is that the Gir cows are beautiful in looks and they are full of loving emotions whereas the exotic breeds lack both these features. When Gir Cow milk is consumed then its loving emotions are transferred to human being.

  • HUMPS: We see prominent hump in all Vedic Gir cows. We see in all modern species the hump is practically absent. The hump in Vedic cows has a specific vein called Surya Ketu Nadi which is absent in non Vedic ones. This Nadi (vein) absorbs all the energies and radiations from sun, moon and all luminaries from universe and puts them in cow products like milk, urine, dung, ghee (clarified butter) etc. In Gir cow products of non Vedic species this divine effect of Surya Ketu Nadi is absent. Therefore it produces A2 Type Milk and Non-Vedic Jersey cow produces A1 Milk
  • DEWLAP: is a prominent specific fold of skin below neck which is prominently present in Vedic cows as seen in photos above. This dewlap gives immunity power to cow and cow products.
  • Prominent Forehead: The Vedic Gir cows have prominent forehead of round shape. The non-Vedic once have flat or almost flat forehead.
  • Facial appearance: There is serenity on face of Vedic Gir cows which is absent in those of non-Vedic variety

Type of Milk

What is Type A2 MILK & Associated Benefits

There are 12 genetic variants of beta casein (A1, A2, A3, B, C, D, E, F, G, H1, All Indian native cattle breeds like Gir cow produces only A2 milk (3) while the foreign cattle breeds like HF breed produces only A1 type of milk and Jersey breed produces higher A1 and low A2 milk.

Regular consumption of A2 milk has shown reduction in autism in children, schizophrenic symptoms, incidence of cardiovascular disease, type-1 diabetes and various neurological, endocrine and immunological disorders.

Cow's milk contains two major protein groups; caseins and whey proteins and out of which caseins account for 80% of milk protein.(1) Among the caseins, beta casein is the second most abundant protein and has excellent nutritional balance of amino acids.

Recently in the month of April 2015, it is scientifically tested & proved by Gujarat Krushi (Agriculture) University at Junagadh, Gujarat that Gir Cow Mutra contains Gold, Silver and Iron etc. total 5,100 minerals in it!
